European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created by the European Commission in the framework of the new Integrated Roadmap Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) by bringing together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector.
European Technology and Innovation Platform „Smart Network for Energy Transitions“
https://www.etip-snet.eu/
The ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) role is to guide Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) to support Europe’s energy transition.
European Technology and Innovation Platform on Wind Energy
https://etipwind.eu/?ref=tpwind
The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Wind Energy (ETIPWind) connects Europe’s wind energy community. Key stakeholders in the platform involve the wind energy industry, political stakeholders and research institutions.
The scope of ETIPWind is to create a virtual and physical platform via which the wind energy community can communicate, coordinate and collaborate its work and activities related to research, innovation and technology. The ambition is to define and agree on concrete research and innovation (R&I) priorities and communicate these to the European institutions and other decision making bodies in order to support the ambition of reaching the RES targets for 2020. ETIP Wind thus advises policy makers in a systematic and coordinated way, facilitating collaboration and sharing information with all wind energy stakeholders.
European Technology & Innovation Platform PV
http://www.eupvplatform.org/
The European Technology & Innovation Platform PV is an independent and objective body which aims to be the recognised point of reference for key decision and policy makers. The Platform’s mission is to develop a strategy and corresponding implementation plan for education, research & technology development, innovation and market deployment of photovoltaic solar energy, to realise its vision.
Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC)
http://www.rhc-platform.org/
The RHC-Platform directs its efforts toward the coordination of European, national, regional and local research, development and deployment programmes and initiatives in the renewable heating and cooling sector.
The RHC-Platform acts as a catalyst for establishing effective public-private partnerships and provides a qualified interface between the EU and Member States for coherent research policy development and consistent programme planning and implementation. It will also help to develop awareness of the role of renewable energy technologies in Europe’s low carbon energy mix and foster co-operation, both within the EU and at global scale.
European Biofuels Technology Platform
http://www.biofuelstp.eu/
The Mission of the European Biofuels Technology Platform is to contribute to:
– the development of cost-competitive world-class biofuels value chains,
– to the creation of a healthy biofuels industry, and
– to accelerate the sustainable deployment of biofuels in the EU
through a process of guidance, prioritisation and promotion of research, technology development and demonstration.
Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform
http://www.snetp.eu/
Nuclear fission energy delivers safe, sustainable, competitive and essentially carbon-free energy to Europe’s citizens and industry. Within the framework of the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), the European Commission’s stakeholders have formulated a collective vision of the contribution which fission could make towards Europe’s transition to a low-carbon energy mix by 2050, with the aim of integrating and expanding Research and Development capabilities in order to reach this objective. Action is needed now to enable Europe to retain its leading technological and industrial position in the field of civil nuclear technology.
European Technology Platform for Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants
http://www.zeroemissionsplatform.eu/
Founded in 2005, the European Technology Platform for Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants (ZEP) is a unique coalition of stakeholders united in their support for CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) as a key technology for combating climate change. ZEP serves as advisor to the European Commission on the research, demonstration and deployment of CCS.
ETIP Ocean energy
https://www.oceanenergy-europe.eu/
Ocean Energy Europe is the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world. 117 organisations, including Europe’s leading utilities, industrialists and research institutes, trust OEE to represent the interests of Europe’s ocean energy sector.
ETIP Deep Geothermal
http://www.etip-dg.eu/“
The European Technology & Innovation Platform on Deep Geothermal (ETIP-DG) is an open stakeholder group, endorsed by the European Commission under the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), with the overarching objective to enable deep geothermal technology to proliferate and reach its full potential everywhere in Europe.
The primary objective is overall cost reduction, including social, environmental, and technological costs.
It brings together representatives from industry, academia, research centres, and sectoral associations, covering the entire deep geothermal energy exploration, production, and utilization value chain.
